Auditions for Musical

Conway Community Arts Association will hold auditions for its upcoming musical production, A...My Name is Alice, on September 13 and 14 at 7:00 pm at the Faulkner County Library, 1900 Tyler, in Conway.

A...My Name is Alice is one of the first all-women’s musicals and features a series of short scenes, monologues, and musical numbers about the joys, sorrows, and lives of women everywhere. There are five to ten roles available for women, aged 18 to 70.

All women are encouraged to audition regardless of previous experience.
The audition will consist of singing, choreography, and cold readings from the play. Auditionees will learn a short section of music from the play to be sung for the audition along with a series of dance movements.
No advance preparation is necessary. Although everyone will be asked to sing, there are some non-singing roles available. Those interested in auditioning are asked to attend both nights of auditions and dress appropriately for easy movement.

The play is under the direction of Liz Parker, veteran musical theatre actress and director, with choreography by Kirsten Seidel and musical accompaniment by Lisa Gaddy.

The play will be presented November 11-13, and 18-21, in McCastlain Hall on the UCA campus. Tickets will be available November 8 and reservations are highly encouraged. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students in advance, $12 and $ 7 at the door, if available.
Reservations can be made by calling 501-733-6220.

Further information about the play or auditions can be obtained by calling Ms. Parker at 501-450-6247 or emailing her at daveandliz79@gmail.com.
