The Downtown Conway Farmers Market in collaboration with Conway Alliance for the Arts will host the 3rd Annual Student Art Contest to promote locally grown and made products and the people who work so hard to invest in our community.
The Theme “Growing a Climate for Tomorrow” was chosen again this year because it reflects the many ways people do connect. Our country’s farmers care for the land—protecting and tending it for future generations. They lead the way in preservation and innovation for the health of our planet … and the health of our families. The Agriculture Council of America proudly celebrates the dedication of America’s farm families and the bounty they produce on National Agriculture Day. Farmers are proud stewards of our land, water and air—Growing a Climate for Tomorrow!
What: Student Art Contest
Who: Any student ages 10-18 years old in a Faulkner County school or Homeschool.
Deadline to Enter: Friday, April 15th, 2023
Theme: A Growing Climate for Tomorrow
Prizes: Monetary Prizes for Top entries in each category
- 1st place: $50 and Gift Bag
- 2nd place: $35 and Gift Bag
- 3rd place: $25 and Gift Bag
Prize for Best of Show:
$150 Cash Prize, Gift Bag, and Placement in the 100 Faces of Conway Portrait series painted by Faye Hedera.

- 10-12 Years old
- 13-15 Years old
- 16-18 Years old
Requirements
- Only new pieces of artwork inspired by the current year’s theme may be submitted.
- Size Limit not to exceed 16×20 Inches
- Each entry must be the original work of one student only. Help from an adult or collaboration with other students is not allowed. Plagiarized entries will be disqualified.
- Please do not sign the front of the artwork to allow the judges to remain impartial with each participant.
- Entries must be accompanied by a story of at least 10 words but no more than 200 words that is created by the student entrant that communicates what inspired the work, how it relates to the theme, and the content of the work.
- Entries must comply with all local and national laws of the United States. Content must not 1) promote illegal behavior; 2) support racial, religious, sexual or other invidious prejudice; 3) advocate sexual or violent exploitation; 4)violate rights established by law or agreements; 5) invade the privacy of any person; or 6) be otherwise inappropriate as determined by Agricenter in its sole and conclusive determination.
Judging criteria considered: Art entries will be judged on the interpretation of concept, uniqueness, artistry and story behind the artwork. Artwork will be judged by community Judges.
Submissions: Students should submit entries via the form provided by the link/QR Code below. Submissions should be Visual 2-D Art. Examples include photography, painting, collage, graphic design. No sculptures or artwork made in the round will be accepted.
ALL the art entered becomes a shared copyright with the Downtown Farmer’s Market to be used for promotional purposes.
We will only be able to choose 15 pieces of art for each age group. Since we have limited space in our gallery, we will be choosing artwork that we feel best reflects our theme, ‘Growing a Climate for Tomorrow’. If your artwork is chosen in the final round of selections, we will contact you on April 17th. All artwork must be framed and ready for display in a gallery. Unframed work will not be accepted. Simple frames, with or without glass, are acceptable. The back of the artwork must have a wire or sawtooth hanger already installed. If the artwork is on mounted canvas, there must be a wire installed on the back of it so it can be securely mounted to the wall. We want to keep your beautiful artwork safe!
If your artwork is not chosen this year, please try again next year and keep making art!
